cher (aka champions of empty rooms)
CHER is a Philadelphia pop-up gallery founded by Jessie Clark and Veronica Cianfrano in 2012 . We seek to expose contemporary art to a new viewer-base, in hopes of expanding the artistic conversation. We do this by organizing events and exhibitions that meet communities where they are, in their neighborhoods, and that center on accessible and meaningful themes. We hope to serve the community at large as well as the art community through these endeavors.

manifesto-ish
Manifesto-ish was created in 2011 by four artists who met in grad school. We wanted to continue to collaborate though most members of the group lived in different cities. We also wanted to create opportunities for other artists to have access to opportunities that may not be afforded to them due to location or other barriers.
Artists are confronted with the need to keep a website. It expands our reach to new audiences and allows us to communicate with our fans. But what else can the internet do for artists? What can be created from it? If the internet was a medium, what would the brushes, chisels, paints, chalks, etc. be? This is the mission of a new type of artist website, by artists, for artists. Manifesto-ish.com is:
Part virtual gallery where scale and physical location have no meaning.
Part Online Artist in Residence program, where artists gain access to space, publicity, collaboration tolls and feedback on projects that explore the capacity of the internet as an art making medium.
Part artist network where artists can connect to share ideas, give feedback and collaborate.
Manifesto-ish is dedicated to the idea that art can push boundaries while still being accessible; collaborative while also personal.
